
The term RETINITE refers to the natural amber from the Dominican Republic. Unlike the Baltic Sea amber, it does not contain succinic acid and it often shows up in nodules with a marked transparency. (More information)
The specimen has a very well preserved insect of the order "Hymenoptera" (bees and wasps), notably the perfection of the antennas. Well visible also a bag produced most likely from a beginning of decomposition of the insect itself
